For sheer post sales fuck-offery try returning anything to your local Darty. Think Argos, but on a really, really bad day. Local store (Cannes La Bocca) has 3 sales staff in total but you need the Chef de Service who is the one member of the sales staff that is always busy (Desolée) selling something to the sweet old lady who you now is going to take 2 hours ... right up until lunch time when they disappear (encore, Desolée).

: We are not the same company that made the offer (technically true in HP's case).

: Unbelievable! (had to include that one)

The sight of the hoi polloi toting trolleys full of gently worn stuff is matched only by the tortured expressions of the chronically understaffed counter, and the panic on the faces of the scurrying managers trying to get their underlings to do something other than stand around talking.

Weeellll.... also Microsoft had few years ago for a while ( 6 months?) a free limitless email etc, perhaps an accountant looked at the deal and it sort of disappeared(only 15 Gb or such now)... so if you have not learned the lesson by now I might have a bridge for you for free...

On the other side of the equation is the American company RCBS that makes ammunition reloading equipment. I contacted them regarding a part for a die I bought half a century before. They sent me the part; free.
