A report of a typical phone-in meeting (courtesy of /u/lawtechie on reddit)

"It's a typical call. Five minutes of smalltalk until the quorum/Important Persona to join the call. 23 minutes of statusy things with some budget/timing passive-aggressive blamestorming on both sides. A nitpick about reminding the field assessors about giving useful in-person feedback so we can show upwards trendlines for the next quarter."

Regarding RFID chips: It's very real. RFID is the tech in search of an application. There's the "use our original replacement parts only, thank you very much" usage, not only for printer ink cartridges but for bits to attach to syringes for metering the injection. There's the "we'll count your surgical sponges for you, so you know you haven't left one in the patient" app that didn't work out too well at first, because they wanted to scan the patient's body. Then they switched to counting the ones thrown in the bucket on the floor, with a scanner attached to the bucket itself ("please use our original high-quality buckets only, thank you very much").

If the coffee pod people, and I use "pod people" advisedly, haven't started using RFID in their gadgets, they soon will.
