Well no, I'm vegetarian. The last time I ate wild boar, it was in sausages brought to my barbecue by the ex-editor of Macworld about 10 years ago. They were good, mind.
I am with Comrad Potemkine about french hunters. For having to cope with them in La Beauce of my youth (and it's probably worse in more trigger-happy regions like Sologne or Sud-Ouest), I am afraid they are more closer to the depiction by "Les inconnus" comedy trio ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuGcoOJKXT8) than to the sympathetic Obelix...
Glad to see you back at The Register. I wonder however why your new chronicles aren't displaying under the tag "something for the WE, sir", but I'm niggling. Thanks for the fun !
Two chronicles on the same day! We're blessed! Gloria in excelsis Deo!
Don't mess with french hunters. They are armed. And sometimes loaded (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ts5JQY__nWU).
Try une terrine de sanglier with a good bottle of Minervois, it may help you to see hunters differently ^^

Two chronicles and a BOFH. Mon dieu! Looks like I took the wrong day to not be at my PC until the evening. Still a flagon of beer to you all.
Wonder if Tom Lehrer's hunting song could be an appropriate description?
qui chasse les chasseurs
Welcome back Alistair, now perhaps we can see some sense being written again
