Let me in! I forgot my keys!

Oh hang on. Ah don’ need no stinkin’ keys, my front door unlocks smartly.

I took some convincing before taking the smart lock plunge but now I’ll never go back. Carrying the immense weight of a physical metal key in my physical pocket was causing me suffering, discomfort and inconvenience, according to the smart-lock publicity I had read.

Worse, there’s the constant risk of loss or theft. Getting a new key cut to replace a lost one can cost as much as, ooh I dunno, nearly five euros.

Yup, it’s much more convenient, less cumbersome and generally more cost-effective, I decided, to lock and unlock my front door using a 700 € smartphone instead.
